Teaching
Artist and educator…
I love sharing my passion for all forms of printmaking and find it really exciting and rewarding to teach the techniques and nurture the creativity within people - getting inky and making something is a great antidote to the digital world and a wonderful way to support well-being and good metal health. I firmly believe in the power of print!
I am a qualified teacher with over 25 years of experience across the spectrum of education. I began my teaching life in a college of FE working with vocational students teaching art and design. I then qualified in Early Years education and worked in Essex in a variety of settings before relocating to Norfolk where I worked supporting children, families and Early Years practitioners across the county. Among other things, this involved devising and delivering training courses on a wide range of subjects for a variety of participants; from fellow teachers to parents to volunteers.
Since 2016 I have worked as a freelance tutor at the Curwen Print Study Centre where I studied under Stanley Jones MBE. I am the lead tutor on the Certificate in Fine Art Printmaking course alongside teaching other courses there including linocut, woodcut, screen printing, photolithography and cyanotype.
Whatever type of printmaking you would like to learn and explore, I can plan and deliver something to suit your needs, circumstances and budget. I can bring the equipment and resources and can travel to work with schools, community groups, artist groups and individuals throughout East Anglia. If you would like to find out more about what courses or services I provide, please get in touch using the Contact page.
I have an enhanced DBS Certificate, a First Aid Certificate, Prevent training and from my work with Norfolk Early Help, detailed knowledge and experience of Safeguarding protocols and procedures.
